WHEN TO GO:
For maximum wildlife is best rainy season December-April. The best is December and January, when the intensity of the rains a bit. At this time, but it is necessary to count with a very unpleasant weather conditions-rain, high temperature, high humidity.
The most pleasant weather is in the dry season June-September. Temperature around 25 degrees, low humidity. The animals but it is harder to observe-the best area is Akaka falls. July and August are also good for observing humpback whales off the coast.
Visa-recommend arrange directly at the Embassy in Berlin. Or at one of the embassies in neighboring African countries, if you are already in Africa.
In addition, there is a seemingly simple variant of the e-visa: https://evisa.dgdi.ga Promise visa in 3 days if you have confirmation of accommodation in Gabon. According to my experience, the system is totally unreliable and no one can guarantee you a response or for 3 months, especially if you are travelling alone, without the Gabonese CK.
For visiting Loango NP, there are several alternatives. I recommend to choose the most professional-Loango lodge. This is the only one able to perform all activities in the Park (rides in boats, on the Savannah in a safari Jeep, visit habituovaných Gorilla, walking in the jungle) and has the best seasoned Guide. Łódź belongs also to the main 2 associated camps, multi-day programs that allow you to delve deeper into the Park.
Loango lodge is a comfortable accommodation on the shores of the lagoon, Iguela and right on the border of the National Park. The rooms are equipped with private bathroom with hot water, hairdryer and air conditioning. Electricity runs 24 hours a day, and in the lobby area you can catch the slower wifi. The price is very tasty and full Board in the bar you can enjoy an evening drink and coffee after lunch. There is even a swimming pool, but with a lot of activities that it offers Loango, who took it?
For longer stays, you can penetrate even deeper into the Park using satellite camps Tassi and Akaka falls. Both provide basic comfort-cabins or indoor safari-tents with private facilities without electricity. Of course, the experiences are richer-you sleep right in the middle of the wilderness, in addition to the elephants, Buffalo and with the sounds of the jungle.
Booking in Loango lodge can be done directly. Communication with Gabon, however, may not be the easiest. If you need help please feel free to contact me!
HOW DOES SAFARI AND WHAT WILL YOU SEE?
When you say safari in Africa, everyone imagines a footage from the documentary series the BBC Earth or National Geographic exhibitions and also hope to see a lion in the hunt when mating, elephants or Cheetah in the 130 km/h. These images usually turns into a reality only zlomkově, and even in the most famous parks in Eastern or southern Africa. The documents are recorded almost exclusively in open savanna, where it is relatively easy to catch a glimpse of the animals and the crews spend months here, to get the shot. If you go on a safari to Africa for the first time and want to see the African “classics”, select the Masai Mara in Kenya, the Serengeti in Tanzania, Krůgrův NP in the JAR or drive through Etosha in Namibia.
Safari in the jungle is for demanding travellers, who have already been through traditional African destinations expect luxury and can appreciate the rarity and exclusivity. Animals in the rainforest are hardly observable, but when it will experience is much more intense. When strolling in the jungle primary, no one can guarantee any watching the game, but there are several Loangu “cool” places where it is likely to see:
- on the savannas and beaches around Tassi, especially in rain season (our winter)-from Jeep
- to open the banks of rivers for Akaka falls in the dry season (our summer)-boats
- habituované gorillas-walk

If you spend at least Loangu 3 full days and you make use of all sorts of activities, from a high probability you will see: the Gorilla, chimpanzee, different types of duikers, hippos, buffaloes, pigs, jungle, forest elephants, hornbills, jungle, sitatungy, rybaříky, vlhy, zobouchy, a crocodile štítnatého and crab (also mosquitoes and tse-tse flies, you fortunately not in large quantities).
an example of an ideal itinerary.
